Abstract

The number of Sulawesi Utara workforce in February 2023 was recorded at 1.31 million people and there were 1.23 million people working.

The February 2023 Open Unemployment Rate was 6.19 percent, down 0.32 percentage points compared to February 2022.

The Labor Force Participation Rate (TPAK) was 63.31 percent, up 1.34 percentage points compared to the same month the previous year. There is still a discrepancy between male and female TPAK.

The percentage of the population working in formal activities reached 40.86 percent (502.58 thousand people), an increase of 3.74 percentage points compared to February 2022. On the other hand, the percentage of the population working in informal activities has decreased.

Of the 1.23 million people who work, 5.51 percent of them fall into the category of underemployed and 26.42 percent fall into the category of part-time workers.
