Development of Farmer Terms of Trade in North Sulawesi Province October 2024

Abstract

The North Sulawesi Farmer Terms of Trade (NTP) in October 2024 increased by 1.00 percent to 113.27 compared to September which was 112.15. The change in NTP was due to the value of the Price Index received by Farmers (It) experiencing a higher increase than the value of the Price Index paid by Farmers (Ib). The Price Index received by Farmers (It) increased by 1.25 percent while the Price Index paid by Farmers (Ib) increased by only 0.25 percent.
NTP on a Year to Date (YTD) or calendar year basis increased by 0.38 percent. Meanwhile, the NTP on a Year on Year (YoY) or year-on-year basis also increased. The YoY Farmer Exchange Rate increased by 1.06 percent.
In line with the NTP, the Agricultural Business Exchange Rate (NTUP) also increased by 0.95 percent, from 114.25 in September to 115.33 in October.
In rural areas there was monthly inflation from household consumption of 0.25 percent. All household consumption expenditure groups experienced inflation except the Education group which tended to stabilize. The highest inflation occurred in the Health expenditure group at 0.74 percent and the lowest occurred in the Housing, Water, Electricity and Other Fuels expenditure group at 0.01 percent.
